Jackie Morris

Jackie Morris, 79, of Hoopeston, went to Heaven to join his wife, on Friday, December 1, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Morris was born on September 7, 1938, in Shelbyville, Illinois, the son of Albert and Jennie (Barker) Morris. He married Shirley Morris on June 28, 1958, in Mississippi. She passed away on May 3, 2015.

He is survived by three daughters Jacqueline (Keith) Burt of Orange Park, Florida, Tammy Alkire and Penny (Ron) Goodrum of Pleasant View, Tennessee; four grandchildren- Joshua Harness, Jacob Harness, Sara Burt and Jamie Edens; four great-grandchildren- Breckyn Harness, Trinity Edens, Arianna Burt and Annabelle Edens; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister.

Mr. Morris worked for 40 years at CIPS.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, fishing and tinkering in his garage.  He was a member of the Moose. 

Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston, with Keith Burt officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Blurton Funeral Home, 309 East Washington Street, Hoopeston.  Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Mr. Morris’s life.  Memories or photos may be shared with the family on her memorial page at:  www.blurtonfuneralhomes.com.
