Adam E. Hoskins, 79, of Alvin, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at the Illinois Knights Templar Home in Paxton.
Adam was born on September 3, 1937, in Hawbuck, Illinois, the son of Harry W. and Eva V. (May) Hoskins. He married Pauline Theresa Doucet on May 13, 1966, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons- Matthew of Morrison, Colorado and David of Pitkin, Colorado; Daughter- Pamela of Rossville, IL; seven grandchildren- Jordan, Mason, Jessica, Alayna, Matthew, Summit, and Logan; 6 great-grandchildren- Selphie, Spencer, Simon, Landan, Luka, and Dilynn; six brothers- Harold, Pete, Richard, Albert, Bill, and Lester; two sisters- Eva and Penny; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John, and one son, Anthony.
Adam served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was co-owner of Hoskins Brothers Construction and later worked as a union plumber/pipefitter for several years. He was a member of the Potomac American Legion, Toucan Car Club, and the Lions Club. He was very well admired for his woodworking ability, and was an avid Denver Broncos, Jeff Gordon, and NASCAR fan.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2016, at the Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac, with Pastor Randy Holden officiating. According to his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the Potomac American Legion.
