Carolyn Frances Davies, 62, of Armstrong, lost her battle with cancer at 8:39 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017, at home with her family by her side.
Mrs. Davies was born on April 26, 1955, in Paris, Illinois, the daughter of Francis E. Redmon Jr. and Carolyn (Simpson) McCammon. She married Dean Davies on April 3, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives.
She is also survived by her mother- Carolyn McCammon of Urbana; three children- Brian Swinford of Danville, Dusty (Joe) Turngren of Urbana and Scott Davies of Chatsworth, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren- Cameron Prouse of Paris, IL, Emily Swinford of Dallas, TX, Hayden Swinford of Danville, Michael Swinford and Sofia Swinford both of Urbana, Blair Swinford and Aria Swinford both of Hoopeston, Nicholas Hoskins, Logan Hoskins, Maximilian Turngren, Mason Turngren and Samson Turngren all of Urbana and Gyllian Davies of Chatsworth; two brothers- Wayne Redmon of Davie, FL and Dave (Teresa) Wright of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters- Sherry (Randy) Calin of Heath, OH, Carla (Marty) Bradley of Oakwood and Vickie (Jim) Henry of East Moline, IL; two sisters-in-law- RaNae (Jim) Proffitt of San Diego, CA and LeeAnn (Dan) Davies-Rice of Cornelius, NC; brother-in-law- Herb Linne of Ft. Collins, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, grandson- Channing Swinford, father-in-law- Richard Davies, mother-in-law- Annis Davies, sister-in-law- Joyce Linne and her beloved canine companion-Frankie.
Carolyn enjoyed gardening, taking care of others and most importantly spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac. Following the visitation cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be held at a later date in Partlow Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mills Breast Cancer Institute or to Carle Hospice.
